Stool samples for multi dog household

Question
I have a question and hope you can explain this to me.  Every year when we take our brother and sister Mini Schnauzers for their check up and shots. I always bring a stool sample for each one to have checked.  The technician only checks one.  She tells me that they only check one and if they find something, they treat both dogs.  Last year I had them check both samples.  My feeling is that one could have something and the other not and if they check the one that is OK then they would never know if the other dog had anything.  Is this correct, that I would only have to bring in one stool sample and it doesn't matter which dog?

Answer
It seem as if one dog get a parasite the other one will have it also.  I believe that is what they are thinking.
