My dog is very lethargic and not feeling like herself

Question
Hi. We have two catahoula curs that are a year and a half. They have not been spayed. One of them, Belle, started acting like she didn't feel good yesterday morning. That was the first day I noticed anything different. She wouldn't eat, which is NOT like her at all. She was very lethargic and didn't get off of the couch all day. Prior to this, we've noticed her vomiting on and off. It's not every day, but often. She will only vomit once and she's perfectly fine after that. I did end up taking her to the vet yesterday. She was running a pretty high fever - 104.6. We tested her for worms and it was negative. We discussed the possibility of something being unable to digest in her system. They do eat and chew everything under the sun! Also, it's been about 4 months since she came out of heat. We talked about her possibly having pyometra. Is that really possible with her being only a year old? I know that we need to take action as quick as possible if it is her uterus. I wondered about it possibly being inflammatory bowel disease since she's just vomiting every once in a while and she's not having diarrhea. The vet gave me an antibiotic for the fever and one for the vomiting. Just wondering if you could give me some insight on this. Thank you very much!

Answer
Sarah, I am glad you went to the vet and had a good exam.  Try the antibiotic and see what happens.  Also, if she continues to have problems you can have the belly ultrasound done to rule out female problems.  As far as inflammatory bowel, it is possible but you would think she would have loose stools.

Here is what I would like you to try:

Give Belle some Acidophilus ( 1 billion CFUs) - give her one per day - hide it in some cheese.  This will help her belly and get rid of the bad bacteria.

NuVET Plus - This is a must for her healing and her Immune System.
NuVET is a great wafer treat / Helps with digestion and the liver...
NuVET is great for your other dog, too.  NuVET keeps them healthy and helps to fight off any bacteria and diseases.
Call Joan tomorrow in the morning and ask her for a 90 count of NuVET Plus - She will need 1 per day --- the 90 count will last you for 3 months.  If you want the two dogs on the NuVET then order a 180 count bottle.  NuVET will cost you about .55 cents per day.
GET 15% off when you order on auto-ship...
NuVET is guaranteed or they will refund you.
