panting & shaking

Question
Our dog is a mixed breed, age 7. Out of no where usually early morning, she just starts shaking & panting. She will hide behind you on the couch or wherever a person is. You can't move her & she won't take a dog biscuit, which she lives for. It has happened the last couple of nights. There is usually no cause that we are aware of to bring this on. Nothing unusual happened earlier that day. Do you have any ideas what could be causing this? Donna

Answer
Panting and shaking are usually pain related. Every time some one tells me this exact same thing then they have their dog checked they usually find some issue going on with the back or the hind legs of the dog.
So in the vein, it would behoove you to have her checked over well and ask the vet why she would do this.
But my guess is that she is experiencing some kind of pain upon arising in the morning that works it way out later on. Hence the early morning shakes and such.

You vet can find if she has some arthritis going on or something like that. He will give her some medicine for it so she won't be in as much pain.
But you need to make the appointment and get her in next week.
