my maltese puppy

I just adopted an 8 month old maltese and love him already.  I am curious AS TO HOW MUCH APPROXIMATELY HE WILL WEIGH WHEN GROWN.
HE IS A LITTLE OVER 8 MONTHS AND WEIGHS 5 and a half POUNDS. I TOLD THE BREEDER I WANTED TO STAY WITHIN THE STANDARD OF 5 TO SEVEN POUNDS.  he SAID WHEN GROWN WOULD BE 6 and 1/2 to seven pounds as is over 2/3 grown now. Please let me know if this is so.  I read somewhere that maltese grow a little differently. Thank you!

Dogs grow until the age of two, but after 6 months you won't notice any changes on the outside. The average maltese is around 6 to 8 lbs.

Just make sure you have him on a high quality puppy growth food such as Science Diet Puppy Growth and he will grow and be healthy.

I have no way of knowing what he will be when grown. That will all depend on his parents size and health.

Maltese don't grow any differently then any other small breed of dog.
