pregnant australian shepherd

After using the restroom this evening, I noticed a bitter smell coming off the back end of my dog.  When I checked, I noticed that her entire vulva is crusted over, and closed.  She is 45 days pregnant.  What could this be?

Hard to say since I cannot see it. If she has some sort of a discharge going on that is discolored or foul smelling then she needs to see the vet.

Any kind of discharge at this point isn't a good sign.

I would clean her off with a warm washrag and look to see what color this discharge is, but I would still have the vet look at her.
