Question
I'm house sitting for my mom and her husband. and their cat is growling at us and trying to attack us.. even when aren't acknowledging him and we walk past he attacks. according to my mother he isn't normally like this. why would he be doing this and what could help.
oh and by the way we have tried petting him, feeding him treats, letting him smell us and just ignoring him.

Answer
This is pretty serious Taylor. I don't know why he is doing this but you are in his territory and he isn't liking it.

Either he smells a dog on you or other cats but something is setting him off and you should probably either isolate him in a room with food, water and a litter box, or only go over there with freshly washed clothes on.

What ever it is, he is smelling it on you. Be careful, as cats like this can do some serious damage to you.
