Question
Hi there..i have a 6 months pitbull and i think she ate some lead pellets that i had on a table in a plastic bag....my question is...will the consumption of the lead pellets affect or put in danger her health??thanx..

Answer
I would be concerned any time a dog eats lead. You have not mentioned how many is 'some'. I wouldn't think that her eating 1 or 2 could cause a huge problem but lead stays in the blood and is deposited into the fatty tissues, which can lead to some problems later.
I know there are tests that the vet can send off to see if she has lead poisoning but other than that the only way you will know is when she is already sick from it.
That best thing to do would be to get her to the vets and get her tested.
If she just ate them within the last 4 hours you can make her drink hydrogen peroxide and have her vomit. You may or may not find them.

She most likely will pass the pellets but what she absorbs in the meantime is the problem.

I hope you find them in the grass instead.
Please let me know what you find out.
