Cat Meowing

Question
I have two 10 month old male kittens.  One of them is very 'needy' and almost always wants to be pet and loved.  He has always been a vocal cat.  About 3 months ago, he started to meow and awful lot whild wandering around the house.  At first, we thought it was because he coudln't find his "brother".  So, we'd find the other cat and put them together.  This seemed to fix the 'crying' until he was neutered (about 2 months ago).  Now he cries and cries and cries and nothing seems to make him stop.  I've tried petting him, cuddling with him, playing with him, helping him find his 'brother', none of it seems to appease him.  He might stop crying for about 30 seconds or a minute but then will start crying again and continue wandering aroudn the house.  I love my kitties but I am going out of my mind.  It is really annoying and frustrating and I don't know what to do.  Any suggestions?

Answer
Hi there!  Some cats are very, very vocal....but this seems a bit over the edge.  Is he behaving normally otherwise?  Eating/drinking?  No indication of illness?
If he is showing any signs of illness, this could be the cause and a vet visit would help him get well again. Generally constant meowing equals pain, but if he isn't showing any irregular symptoms, this may not be the case.
Some cats, of course, are definitely "talkers" and are very vocal all the time! However, if your cat has been checked out by your vet and there are no medical problems, and he is really trying to get your attention with his constant meowing, it's time to start paying close attention and try to figure out what it is your cat is trying to tell you! He is possibly hungry; possibly lonely; his litter box is possibly not clean enough for his liking; there may be changes in your home or personal routine that are upsetting to him. Remember - cats are very picky little critters and stress out very easily over little things.
I wish I could be of more help!
Let me know how he does and hang in there!
