bald spot on my cats back

I have noticed that my cat has a small spot on her back where there is no hair it is kinda rough feeling.  It has just happened in the past few days.  I'm worried about what it is.  She is an inside cat and is about 3 years old.  The spot is right above her tail on her lower back.  I would greatly appreciate some advice.  thank you  crystal hawley

Without seeing the lesion, it is hard for me to be specific.  When you describe a solitary lesion, that indicates some kind of trauma, like a bite or a scratch.  The hard stuff you are feeling is probably dried serum forming a crust on the top of the spot.  You should let your vet have a look at the area to see if it is anything to worry about.
