Question
My dog, black lab,was stung by a bumble bee on his right front paw. He was limping at first but is now constantly licking it. What can I do?

Answer
Hi Gail!  Sounds like he's having a small allergic reaction to the bee sting, which is very normal.  My dog is so allergic to bee stings that his throat swells. They are just like people in this respect.  Give your dog Benadryl.  The dosage is 1mg per pound of your dog...so if your dog is 100 lbs, you would give him 100mg of Benadryl and so on.
This should definitely take care of the problem.  If you notice any hives along the sides of the body or facial swelling, an immediate vet visit would be needed, as this would indicate a more severe reaction.
I hope this helps and please let me know how he does!
