Question
My husband and I just got a kitten and she's had a runny stool since day one.  I've tried cottage cheese with chicken and rice. Canned cat food with chicken and rice. Kitten food with all of it.  Yougurt as well.  Nothing helps.  Fecal test was negative.  What can I do?

Answer
What was the fecal test done for? Just because it was negative doesn't mean she isn't full of roundworms and there just weren't any in that sample (eggs that is). She could have coccidia also, which is a protozoa not a worm and needs a different medicine to kill it.

Never give a cat dairy from a cow- that will just make the diarrhea worse. You can use boiled ground turkey and rice for a few days but it could also be the food you are feeding her. What brand is it?

Probiotics will help if you get some from the vet. I would get her treated for round worms, coccidia just in case and get her on some Science Diet Kitten Growth mixed with a very small amound of boiled rice for a few days. Switch the food over slowly so she isn't made worse by the change.

Let me know what you are currently feeding and maybe I can give you some more ideas.
