imflamation

Question
My Min-Pin has an imflamed penis.  He is not neutered and is still a puppy.  It has been over an hour and it will not go down.  What should I do?

Hi Jackie!  Does he have an erection or is his penis actually just swollen?  He may have a penile infection, which can be pretty common, especially if he isn't neutered yet.  I would suggest a physical examination by your veterinarian, as if this is a penile infection and the inflammation becomes swollen enough, it could interfere with his urination.  If he can not urinate, it can cause a toxicity of his system, being that the urine would be trapped.  An antibiotic would cure the infection, and a steroid injection may be given to decrease inflammation.
