Dogs Strange Behavior

Question
My daughter and her husband have a mixed breed, 13-year old male dog, which we believe to be lab and shepherd.  He has always been very healthy, but lately he has exhibited strange behavior in that he gets very nervous, trembles, wants to hide.  He sometimes tries his best to go with them to work, or when they are at home, he will follow them from room to room, as if he afraid they will leave him.  He also wakes up at night sometimes and stares at the ceiling, then starts trmbling, and hides his head under their arm when they hold him and try to comfort him.  What do you think might be wrong?  He acts so pitiful at times, and it is very troubling as to what to do to help him.
Thank you for your help.

Answer
I would recommend having some blood tests run to rule out any underlying medical problem that is leading to the behavior.  Some of the behavior may be Cognitive Dysfunction for which he would benefit from B/D diet and Anipryl or if you can get NEUROPLEX supplement from Standard Process that would be a great help.

Otherwise they can try adding Rescue Remedy to his drinking water for anxiety.
