ate soap

hi my six mo. old boxer accidentally ate a bar of soap it isn't hand soap it is a bar of laundry soap

is this an emergency?
or will he be ok .... how bad is that for him

Hi Emily.  You will definately need to contact your veterinarian immediately and call poison control.  Some of these products are very harmful for pets when ingested.  Poison control and your veterinarian will work together on this matter. Your dog may need to have activated charcoal to take out the toxicities of the product in his system and your veterinarian may need to induce vomiting.
