QuestionI found bloody feces in her litter box this morning. I am a little worried, although she seems to be fine in every other aspect. Should I take her to the vet, or wait to see if it happens again?
Thanks a bunch.
AnswerHi Ricki! I would definately take the bloody feces over to your veterinarian for a fecal testing. This could be caused by an intestinal parasite (if the cat goes outside, or you have a dog or other pet that goes outside), a simple stomach upset due to stress/new food, or some sort of irritable bowel disease. If she is acting normal and seems to be eating and drinking normally, I don't think that the ailment would be any more complex or serious than that of those listed above. It would definately be worth a vet visit, though, just to give her a clean bill of health and be sure that there are no intestinal parasites present.
Please keep me posted!
