swollen testicles

i have a 9 year old boston terrier.over the last week or so i have noticed his testicles were swelling.now they are really swollen and red.he seems to be loosing weight also. what could possibly be wrong? my wife has been giving him cephalexin for the last couple of days. is that a good idea?

No it is not a good idea. This is how drug resistant bugs are created.

He could have a virus, which antibiotics won't touch, or a prostate issue, cancer or many other things that need to be diagnosed by a veterinarian.

This dog is in distress. He needs to see a doctor soon- like tomorrow.
Please call the vet and make an appointment to get him seen.
