stomach gurgling and loss of appetite

My toy poodle once a month has an episode of not eating for one day and his stomach gurgles the whole time. He will not be persuaded to eat, nothing. He does get a little sluggish too . the next day he's hungry and eats my Vet is not worried Iam! I give him a little Pepto at this time and that is it. Normally he drinks alot of water but on these days he doesn't. what can I do ? He weighs 6.5 lbs.

If the vet is not worried, but you are, you can always get a second opinion.
He may simply have an occasional upset tummy.  There are many animal digestive formulas available on natural animal care websites, so you can buy one of these and add the powder to his food every day.  Otherwise, you can also buy some Slippery Elm powder and add a small amount to daily meals.  I suggest you check with the naturopath on dosage, but I think half a teaspoon per day should be sufficient.  Start off slowly with any supplements, and allow his body time to adjust as otherwise you can end up with diarrhea.
