CHD in olde bulldogge - nuvet and nujoint;

QUESTION: Hi, I have a Olde English Bulldogge that will be three in a few more months but has been diagnosed with HD.  I have him on Rymidel for two months because of his stiffness and limp when he first get up in the mornings and one in the evenings.  I began giving him k9 liquid health with the chron and glocosimine( can't spell them)with msn.  I have began giving him ester-c and right now he's on the 2,250mg and he weighs about 82lbs.  I have him at 2 1/2 cups a food a day until his weight is down to at least 75-80lbs by the vet's suggestion.  Do you think I can add the Nujoint plus or this is enough what I am giving him?  Also, the Nuvet vitamin can I give him this along with the ester-c or only give one or the other?  He has a 24/7 limp on one leg now and I try to take him swimming at least three or four days a week for 20 minutes.  Do you think that is to long?  He seems to let me know when he had enough.  Thanks

ANSWER: Hi Pamela, Well, the swimming is good for him.  I would cut down your sessions to 15 minutes 2-3 x per week.  I would cut the K-9 Liquid health out of the program and use the NuVET products.

QUESTION: Hi, I really appreciate your quick reply and useful information.  I feed him Canadae all stages.  I'm not knocking the vets here but its very hard to find a good one.  I have went to three different vets and all have different suggestions and it get frustrating sometimes trying to do whats right for him.  I feel so bad for him because he don't play like he use to.  I will order the NuVet products and try them.  Can I still give the over the counter Ester-c with these?

Yes, that food is a good one!  Good job.  Don't change it.  
As for the NuVet products/  Holistic and very safe - Give them a good 3-4 weeks to kick in.
YOU should see more Spring in his step.

Also, add some Turmeric herb to your dog's food daily - JUST 1/8 of a teaspoon ---
Find the turmeric in the cooking section - Strong stuff / Very safe but must be served in some food.  HELPS to reduce inflammation and pain.  
LOW cost and natural.

Yes, YOU can use your Ester C along with the NuVET and NuJoint, not a problem.

Also, if you see much pain, many vets will allow (1) baby aspirin per day:
( just 1 of an 81 mg per day - Bayer Baby brand)
Again, this should be service in cheese or some Wet food ....
