Overweight American Bulldog

I have a 2 year old AB girl, Nola, who we rescued in January. She has a wonderful disposition and temperament and gets along great with my two kids and Lab/Pit mix. She had been abused and the vet thinks she may have been hit by a car, at some point. She has significant arthritis in one front elbow and now weighs 100 pounds. Since we have been trying to get some of the weight off, more and more problems are popping up. The pads were worn off of all 3 "good" feet and couldn't walk much for days until they started to heal over. The vet said he thinks she had an allergic reaction (she's allergic to EVERYTHING) that was then amplified by the walk to the point that the pads wore completely off. She takes 4 benadryl twice a day for her allergies! She didn't give ANY indication that she was in any kind of pain. Then, while at the vet for her feet, I had him check a small red spot on her stomach that has turned out to be a tumor (it's unknown yet if it's benign or malignant). Does anyone have any idea how to get some of this weight off? We absolutely love this girl dearly and I don't want to see her get any bigger because it has to be putting more stress on her already injured leg. I would greatly appreciate any help!

Carolyn, that was so nice of you to adopt this gal!  I am sorry to hear she has so many problems.  Glad you have seen the vet for her ? growth and paw pads.  I have a few ideas we can try - All are natural and safe.
Keep an eye on the ? growth area with your vet - Watch for any signs of it getting larger.

1.  Please give her a new food - I can make a suggestion - Many AB dogs are allergic to fillers in the dog food.  Try her on some Innova Evo mixed with Innova - over weight formula -  I have attached a link to Innova so you can see what I am talking about.
