Pit Bull skin problem

Question
Hi! I have an 11-month old female pit bull, Roxy, who has bumps all over her back. They are not colored, just raised bumps.  She has demodex and is on a monthly frontline and heartguard for that.  She has been put on an antibiotic twice, first for a belly rash caused by the mites when she was diagnosed, second most recently for the same bumps she has now. The bumps went away and just came back a week after she completed the antibiotic. They said she was probably allergic to wheat or corn, so for the last 2 months I have been feeding her wheat & corn-free food & treats.  I also put fish oil in her food daily, and have a special shampoo the vet gave me to use and to only bathe her every 2 weeks.  I don't know what the bumps are caused by since I have done everything I am supposed to do to prevent them.  It's hard to tell if the bumps itch because she rolls around on her back sometimes, but never tries to get to it or chew it otherwise.  What else could these bumps be caused from?  I'd appreciate any help you can provide.

Answer
Hello Natalie,
I have been working with this issue the natural way for over 20 years, so there is way more to tell you than I can write here, so I would suggest that you go to my web site: http://www.critteroil.com/ and read much of the information there, especially the articles.  You may also want to try Critter Oil because it is designed to help eliminate exactly this problem.

Anyway, briefly, a few comments:
1) Demodex is age and growth related and generally occurs during growth spurts on pups whose immune system is not strong. One of the main things that weakens the immune system is vaccines, so the series of puppy shots plus the rabies shot that you probably gave her was most likely a catalyst to the demodex and the allergies as well. (You may want to study up on vaccines and the dangers of them. Plus the fact that after the initial vaccine, annual shots are totally unnecessary.)
2) You are right to totally stay away from wheat and corn, but add soy, dairy and beef to your list as well.
3) Eliminate the use of Frontline or any other spot on the back treatment because they are not only toxic to the animal (over 44,000 animals either died or had seizures from using them in 1 year alone)but a major cause of skin issues, especially along the spine. Using Critter Oil in the many ways that it can be used along with feeding quality, natural food will eliminate any flea issues anyway. (Again, read my articles).
4) There are homeopathic heart worm preventatives called nosodes which are effective and totally non toxic as well. I have them available at my store if you would like them. Call me at:727-327-2356 during the week or Saturday.
5) You may want to add some raw food to Roxy's diet as well as an enzyme and pro-biotic supplement. These should put her over the top for good health and a strong immune system and make spending money at the vet a thing of the past for the rest of her life.

If you want to call with any other questions as well, feel free to do that as well.

I am working on a book entitled "Simple Steps to a Healthy Pet" that will be available in a month or two. It's over 35 years in the making, studying and working with dogs professionally and over 20 years of healing the natural way.

Looking forward to hearing from you,
Sue
