Dog MRSA

Question
I have a 13 year old shar-pai chocolate lab mix and he has developed a large lump in his wrist.  He got extremely sick last November one week before thanksgiving and was given a steroid shot and a vitamin shot and a anti biotic shot at the vets office, after two weeks of nursing him and almost loosing him he finally made it through whatever caused his illness, this illness hit him over night and he had black water for his stool for a week and I had to force water and pedilyte into him and then started him on baby rice cereal also force feeding him for several days until he started to eat and drink on his own.  Now he has a large lump on his fore arm near the wrist where he was given one of his shots.  Last October my son had MRSA and later I was too diagnosed with MRSA.  Is it possible that my dog could have MRSA?  I have returned to the vet with him and he was given clindamycin for infection which don't seem to be helping, I returned to the vet and they did x-rays and said he may have cancer but there are some strange things going on with his leg, the lump is very hot, the x-ray shows cloudiness and the vet said she has never seem cancer jump a joint it is both above and below the wrist with cloudiness around his toes and the lump looks cloudy not black like a tumor, she also said that whatever it is is eating away at the bone but he is growing new bone also.  This is causing my dog discomfort but he has not had any loss of appetite and seems to feel a little better on the anti- biotics, he is also getting one half a tramidal twice a day.  Any suggestions on what I could try on him as far as an antibiotic, the vet can not confer if has cancer without doing a biopsy and said that they would have to amputate my dogs leg, he could never survive with only three legs because of his age.  I love my dog and have spent large amounts of money on him when he has gotten sick but I am baffled by this recent occurance and am not ready to throw in the towel.   Thank you

Answer
Hello tami
I am sad to read this and I hope what I say will give you some help.
Your doggy could well have MRSA and I would ask the vet to swab for it. That way a specific course of the correct antibiotic can be used effectively. If this was my doggy I would continue with antibiotics as prescribed by also use colloid of silver to add to his drinking water . I would give him 200mg Vitamin C daily for two weeks and foods and supplements that will boost his natural immune system like  biotin, magnesium as mentioned vitamin c, source some neem tea or make some for him and some foods rich in omegas.
I would not give him a dry food and would ask that you start him on some real meaty foods like lamb, chicken soup the nice stuff like campbells condensed variety. Eggs, Goats cheese, ground oat, tuna in sunflower oil (use the oil too)minced pork, carrot batons, garden peas, green beans etc.Apple also is excellent as it is natures antibiotic . Pink lady they love
It is very important to assist your little ones immune system at this time.

Hope this helps
