Question
hi  we set our 50 gal saltwater tank up about 8 months ago its got a powerhead, filter with 2 filters, live rock, and 2 15w blue lighting.  one of our fish got popeye we had to treat and remove the carbon from the filtersat that time the tank cleared up a little bit but still cloudy then carbon was put back in and it got more cloudy. would start to clear then go back to a milky cloudy  just woundering if you got any ideas i could try to get it clear again?? also which is better to have powerhead with air mixer or just keeping the airstone going?
thank you!

Answer
For a little while turn off the air, you will have enough oxygen transfer with the pumps. Do 1/4 water changes every week / with additional carbon until it clears up. Just a suggestion, you may want to consider reading up on lighting for a marine aquarium, you are falling a little short. I would consider a min. of 200 watts of lighting for this size tank. Some say with a fish only tank it doesn't matter, but i look at it like this, most of the fish we keep in the aquarium come from shallow waters, and the natural sun light they have for sometimes 12 hours a day is more intense, and have wave lengths that we will never replicate. We can get close but not all the way as of now. let me know if you need any more help.
