What is the best way to filter my system.I was thinking about a wet/dry filter. with a mag 7 pump and a 24 watt uv sterilizer. also a good protein skimmer.

it really depends on what you'll be keeping, lets take it as a reef community tank.

i would start with an external canister filter, remove the conventional media and just use it for running carbon, rowaphos and nitrate remover.

to be honest a wet dry filter can be a nitrate factory if its not properly maintained. your best bet is to stick to a straight forward sump, maybe look into a miracle mud refugium with some macro algae and live rock rubble.

this way all your equipment can be kept out of the tank and in the sump. a quick tip for the macro algae/miracle mud refugium, have the lights come on at opposite times to your main tank lights. this helps to keep the PH stable in the main tank.

with regards to the UV it doesn't need to be running 24/7, a good adition to a marine setup but not 100% essential.
