Question
I have a red flaming hawk fish that is losing color and has a white line down the side. He won't eat and is starting to pant.

We also have two clown fish in this 45 gallon tank and they are starting to lose their color too. What is wrong?

I moved them recently and had to start the tank again two months ago, so they had a 50% water change. The PH is fine, Ammonia fine, salt is at 000.19, I normally have it at 17 so it's a little high but would that do it?

There is loads more light in this new room than the old one and it get's green quicker but I just keep cleaning it.

Do they have a disease or is it water quality, any idea can you help me Chester?

Julian.

Answer
I am not sure if this question can be answered without the levels of the tank water.

Ammonia -
Nitrites -
Nitrates -
pH -

Now, when you say a salinity of .19, you really mean 1.019 right? Because, if not, then the salinity needs to be raised to 1.023 on a Fish Only with Live rock tank, or 1.025-1.026 on a reef tank.

Does this tank have any corals? If so, are they showing any signs of distress?

How long has the tank been set up? Is it still cycling?
