Question
Hi, I have a 520L tank with mushroom, live rock, sand, 2x clowns, 1x tang, 4x feather duster, 1x blue star, 1x star polyps, 1 x scollop, 3x cleaning shrimp, 1x dancing shrimp, cardinal, wrasse, damsel, fire fish, XL arrow crab, and few hermits and snails (also a strange centipede/worm looking thing that is a pinkish - transparent colour that came out of a piece of rock - do you know what this could be please?) my question in addition to the above is what other cleaning crew would be best to get or do i have enough, we are looking at getting 2 anemones this week for the clown fish so any advise would be welcome. Many thanks.

Answer
Hi Amanda,
The only thing I can think of, and 2 of my personal favs for the clean up crew, is the Emerald Crab and the Cerrith Snail. Great scavengers! But they are not a must, you have a pretty good crew going. The worm most likely is a Bristle Worm, another scavenger. There are numerous types so I cant be more specific than that without a picture. Most are harmless and good for the system, they come in on live rock. They can also be plucked out with tweezers(not your fingers! they sting!) if you dont like them. Emeralds and hermits are known to eat them.
Anemones... just make sure water quality is pristine. They have zero tolerance for nitrates, nitrites, ammonia... etc. And if getting 2, 2 different species are best. And mixing a Condylactis Anemone, with any other anemone is not a good idea. They are extremely aggressive.
I personally have had the best luck mixing with Sebae and Entacmaea quadricolor, The Bulb Anemone. Avoid carpet anemones(except for the mini or dwarf variety). They grow too huge, too mobile and will sting and eat everything in their path!
Well, I hope this answers everything. If not ask away. Good luck and keep me posted!
