Question
Recently purchased a beautful cabbage coral at lfs, acclimated & placed in my tank, seems to have shriveled up & acquired a brown coating also shedding lots of things look like little spikes 7 is splitting in 2.thanks for any help you can give.Noel.

Answer
Hi Noel,
Without a picture I cant be positive. But I would start by checking water quality, they need pristine water. Also a high placement in the system is required. They need strong flow and above medium lighting. The brown coating(if a mucus looking coating) is most likely tissue damage. They "split" you describe could be budding/propogation, but once again without seeing it I cant be sure. Sorry I cant be more specific. Please do send me a clear picture and I'll be more than happy to help you in any way.
