little bugs

hello, i have a 8 gallon reef and its bin setup for about 6 months now and i just recently saw these teeny tiny oval bugs with like 10 legs and 2 antenna all over the glass and the live rock do U no what this is?

They are copepods. Every reef tank has them.

You can scrap them off the glass if you want but there is no need, they are actually beneficial as they do a great job of keeping nitrates down and as a result controlling algae and detrius. Their numbers should decline as the algae goes away.

They also provide a little source of food for many species of fish.
