found eel like fish in tank

i have a 29 gallon tank, parameters are all in line, healthy tank with anenome, pair of percula clown, 2 fire gobys,a cleaner shrimp and some soft corals.  Mysteriously tonight we found a skinny 2.5 inch tan colored with maybe a white stripe on his back) eel like fish swimming crazily around the tank.  We have not added anything to the tank recently.  We noticed the gobys were not bothered by it, but the clown fish were totally freaked out.  I took it out and put it in a quarantine tank until we discover what it is.  Could it have been something born? The head is shaped almost like a tadpole, and the body is wavy when it swims.  Any suggestions, or i will take it to  my local fish store for some help in identification to ensure it is safe?

I am not sure what it could be without more information and or pictures...

how long have you ahd the tank?  when was the last time you added anything?  It is posible he is a 'hitchiker'
