Question
QUESTION: Hello, I have a 75 gallon tank with a 30 gallon sump and all the other filters lights ect for my reef tank. It will be done cycling in a few days and I was wondering if this is ok for a fish list. :) 1 African pygmy angelfish, 5 green chromis, 2 yellow clown globys, 2 cleaner shrimp, 1 fromia sea star and 10 snails. ( 5 turbos and 5 bubble bee snails) is good or way overstocked. I'm not sure about the starfish I looked it up and it is reef safe and I would love to have it, but I think it may make my tank over stocked. Thanks again Megan. :)

ANSWER: hello megan,

I would not have the angel, as they are hit and miss, with an tendancey to be more of a problem then not.

I also dont like bumblebee snails.

I like the chromis, and see a lot of them now adays. i have five myself in my 65...

I wouldnt add the star right away and make sure your tank is mature.

other then that, your list looks just like the last list i helped with on the request just before yours.

Im not sure if it is published yet or not, but it will be soon.

also, i would appreciate your keeping em poste by joining my new forum at www.thelittleocean.com

you can create a blog there, or start discussion and tank build threads.   If you participate routinely, i will give you your own forum to manage and keep track of your questions and discussions

good luck and hope to see you around

QUESTION: Hey Megan again, Do you know of a good fish that could take the place of the angelfish? I'm not that big of a fan of the tangs. I'm not really sure why. Other then the angelfish and bubble bee snail everything is fine? Also do you know of a good snail to replace the bee? :) thanks again, May

Answer
i know you say you arent a fan of tangs, but does that include the yellow tang?  they are very docile and mellow, and dont grow too big?

but, if not, how about a coral beauty?  or a flame hawk?  the flame dont swim around much, he kinda swims and perches and swims and perches?

i like pj cardinals and you can have a couple/three in your tank...  they are mellow and kinda dopey... like, Larry, and his brother, Larry.

and other then that, yea, your good to go.. I wouldnt go out and get them all at once... maybe get the blue greens first?

then almost anything else... with the most aggressive/territorial fish last...make him think he is the new kid

hehehe

good luck and pleae keep me posted...
