Question -
Chris I am trying to keep my betta warm with a bendable desk lamp and a 40 watt bulb, is this to much wattage? Any help would be appreciated  thanks margie
Answer -
Hi Margie;

If the water gets too hot then it is too much. You have to just do what you can and keep trying. Some people use heating pads laid against the bowl, but please be very careful that it doesn't get wet.

Answer
Hi Margie;

If the lamp is the only heat source it should be left on 24 hours a day. It is okay to do that. If it bothers you, the heating pad might work better at nite. Just monitor it for the first nite to be sure it doesn't get too hot or get cool.
