sleepy betta

We have had him almost 2 years now, Yes this is new to him. He just seems to lay around the tank more than before. But he is eating. And he will leave the bowl thing (his bed) a bit. But he would rather you feed him in bed. Thanks Nancy

Our Beta is just laying around in his tank he eats but does little swimming. He has a bowl shaped rock thingie with air bubbles that he likes to lay in.

My bettas do this.  How long have you had him?  Is this new behavior?

Answer
You can probably assume he was about a year when you got them. (usually are) Then the 2 years you have had him makes three, they live up to 9 years in research studies.* (given the most optimal conditions) I would say between 2-4 years is more realastic, so he is getting old, he may just not be as active as he once was.
