sunday when i came home it was at 88-90f i was freaking out and im scared mt fish will die if i dont fix the temperature properly im slowley lowering the temp erature now i took 20-25% of the water pout and put cooler water in and lowered the heater a little so am i doing this right ?? plz help me and what does ick exactly look like??

You are doing a fine job lowering the temperature. However, I recommend not adding any more cooler water as that could cause an even worse temperature shock.
As for ick, it will look like small white dots all over your fish. If you suspect that your fish have ick, I recommend treating them with a product called Coppersafe, or another ick cure.
