Question
QUESTION: hi i was wondering should i turn my filter off so when me guppies gives fry they
don't get suck in our die by it. our what should i do

ANSWER: Henry,

It is always best to know what to do before you have the fry. If your filter is one that hangs on the back, just get a sponge, rinse it off very well make a hole in the middle and place it over the intake section of your filter. Your guppies, if left in the tank with the fry, will eat them all. The fry should be in a breeding tank so that when the females have the babies they can be removed and put back in the main tanks. Never use the main tank to have babies in. You need a breeding tank and your main tank. You should really have 3 tanks. Your main tank, the breeding tank, and the hospital tank. If you don't have these tanks, good luck raising fry, it most likely will never happen. Research your breed of fish BEFORE you even attempt to breed. You have to know everything that you need to do, need to have, long before you even think about breeding. If you think your female is pregnant, you have up to 40 days to get everything needed. But a female an have them sooner. I hope that you are fully ready to raise these babies. I breed the Betta fish and I had everything needed including the tanks, heaters, months before I bought the first pair. Please, do everything need now before she has the babies to ensure they grow strong, healthy, and happy. If you don't have another tank, you need to buy a three way breeder from your local fish store. Shouldn't cost much but the female goes in the main part of the breeder, she has the babies, then they get sucked into a small tube and replaced in another part of the breeder. When the female is done, remove her back to the main part of the tank and all the babies are save in the nursery.

QUESTION: Hi my female guppy has a red dot above her stomach and i don't know what
happened to her do you know what it is

ANSWER: Henry,

Without seeing a picture I can only guess. It sounds like she has delivered her fry. The gravid spot is black, but when she has her babies, it will turn a pink to red color. You might not be done though. Ad about 25 more days and she can deliver again. They can have multiple pregnancies with the same male, meaning, she can be with a male, get pregnant and then be removed. She can have fry and then 20 days later have fry again and then 20 days later have fry again. They can hold the sperm of the male for up to 6 months having babies every month. Just keep an eye on her, she might give you babies again.

As you can see above, with the original question, I answered all of them including the one about the red dot. You waited 4 days to read my answer, so it isn't that I did not answer, which I did, it is because YOU DID NOT read if for 4 days.
