Hello,

Puffers do not necessarily eat fish, but they can be quite aggresive and territorial. If yours is not, then it shoud be fine in a community aquarium just watch your other fish carefully for signs of injuries.

As for worms, they likely meant bloodworms. These can be bought frozen or freeze dried from pet stores and are safe to feed your fish. Worms from outside can carry all sorts of disease and bacteria, and it is not good to add them to your aquarium. I am sure ghost shrimp like worms, but again- you should stick to aquarium safe blood worms. The frozen ones are usually more readily accepted because they are still quite juicy.

I hope this helps.

Answer
Hello,

You should not put anything from outside into your aquarium. Even if you did wash them, water alone could not sanitize them enough. You wouldn't be able to use any sort of soap or sanitizer either, because that would be toxic to your fish. It is best to just stick with products meant for your aquarium, as they are safe and nutritious.

I hope this helps.
