power headspump

i have a 55 gallon ifsh tank i have a power head pump on it. i have never used a power head before but it seams to be running to hard for me to put fish in the tank . how do you slow them down i also have a whiper filter system on it to .please help me

Some powerheads have a dial on them, usually on the top, may or may not be covered by a cover. Some power heads do not have a speed dial on them in which case you need to make sure you select the right one for your tank. You will want to refer to the owner's manual of the powerhead, this will tell you if you have a speed dial on it or not. If you do not have a the owner's manual you can most likely write down the information about the powerhead and go to your local fish store and check to see if they carry the same powerhead and check out the manual. If you find you do not have a speed dial you will most likely need to purchase a smaller power head. Best of luck and happy fish keeping.
