Question
I was wondering if fish always have to be VERY fat to be pregnant. Also, do other Mollies eat molly fry? And two of my fish are very low to the gravel, is it bad? I really need advice if pregnant Mollies have to be in a separate tank than all of the others and what if 2 Mollies were pregnant? Do they each need their own tank? Sorry if I'm asking too many questions, but I really need answers! Also, I'll like to have a few websites that have videos about pregnant Mollies giving birth to their fry so I will know what I'll be expecting

Answer
Taylor,

1. Being big is the first sign your fish is pregnant.
2. Yes Mollies will eat their fry and well as other fry.
3. Since the only thing you are saying is if it is normal to be on the gravel I will have to say yes and no. I don't know if these are the pregnant ones or different fish. If pregnant it could mean fry are on the way soon. If it isn't a pregnant fish it could be illness. Since I don't have any information from you about the 2 on the gravel, that is about all I can say about that question.
4.yes each pregnant molly needs to be in her own tank or her own breeding net.
5. As for the websites go to you tube and find what you are looking for.

It is our job as fish owners to know everything about the fish we want to keep before we buy them. That includes the type of water they need to be in, the kind of food they need to eat, the types of medicine you have to have on hand at all times, and what to do if your fish is pregnant. Watching the fry come out is not the time to try and figure everything out. These fish depend on us to keep the happy and healthy at all times. Please in the future if you want to get a different fish please research everything before you bring home the tank or fish. Any more question feel free to ask.
