Question
I have a 36 gallon acrylic tank with a marineland bio wheel filtration system.  I have one large pond comet and one small one- goldfish.  I lost a large one in the past few months and keep getting reinfestation of ick in the tank.  I have done extensive treatments and it still keeps coming back.  Should i bleach the bio wheel?  I've done seven day treatments and am currently doing wardley's every three days to try something different. i also have a tank heater set at 78 degrees F.

Answer
Hi Virgil,
I recommend using aquarium salt and raise the temperature a few degrees. This will speed up the life process of the ick and they will die. Check your water parameters as ick can be caused by bad water quality which causes stress to the fish.

Chloe.
