Question
I currently have a 35 gallon tank with some angelfish, mollies,a dragonfish, placo,Banjo Catfish and a butterfly fish and they are all doing very well and thriving I recently got a fresh water pufferfish and he was fine for a few days but after we fed the fish some live feeder guppies and ate alot of them and next day he was bumping into stuff and eyes where all cloudy looking I read somewhere that overeating can cause blindness in fish but not sure if it may be some kind of bacterial infection I followed the reccomended diet for the puffer with bloodworms and babyshrimp till the guppies I got the guppies for the angels and the dragon fish mostly altho all the other fish enjoyed them to I was just wondering if the blindness is temporary or permanent and if it is something I have to worry about with fresh water puffers cause I would like to keep some cause they do make a good addition to the tank

Answer
Hello,

I have never heard of overeating causing blindness. This sounds to me like eye-cloud, which is simply a type of fungus. It is usually fairly easy to treat with Pimafix or another fungal medication.

I hope this helps.

Stephanie
