Question
I think I have a cichlid who is full of eggs.  If so,  how long do they usually hold them until they lay them?

Answer
Hi Sarie, your cichlid will usually hold the eggs for about 3 weeks before laying them. When she lays them she might eat them depending on what kind of cichlid she is. I would remove her from the tank or put her in a breeding device right after she lays the eggs for about 3 or 4 days until the eggs hatch into baby fry. When the eggs hatch into baby fry put them in a breeder net and put the mother back into the tank. Then feed them hikari first bites or baby brine shrimp either can be purchased at your local pet store. Good luck Congratulations!
