Question
I have two silver tip sharks in a tank with two gourami and three tiger barb.. the tiger barb and the gourami are doing fine.. The sharks are my concern they seem like they are gasping for air.. i just started the tank yesterday and the sharks have eaten and they are very active.. but they kind of just stay in one corner of the tank on the top.. I was told that these fish are bottom feeders.. Is this behavior normal for these sharks.. should i try and adding some brackish salt or something like that???

Answer
YES, add brackish salt. But say NO! to the gouramies and tiger barbs. THEY MUST GO or they will be killed by the Brackish salt.

ADD: 1-1.25 teaspoons per gallon of non-iodized salt! QUICKLY or you will loose your sharks. Make sure they are in a big tank with hard water. And what are you doing setting up a tank the day before you add fish??? BAD,BAD MISTAKE. You need to do A LOT of HOMEWORK to ever do SHARKS WELL!!!!
