dwarf/chained loaches

Question
Hi, we currently have 3 dwarf/chained loaches in our tank which have lived on our large population of snails. Recently they have been seen chasing each other around in very tight circles and pinning each other down on their sides. We are unsure as to whether they our just playing or our fighting with each other. It is normally only 2 that do this but sometimes it is all 3. Also we have started to feed them dried bloodworm but this floats and is being eaten by the other fish as the loaches wont come up to feed, is there another alternative to this without using live or frozen as there is no shop around here that sells it.
Thanks for your time on this and i hope you can help us.

Answer
Hey Martin,

Odds are, the loaches are fighting over territory. as they age, fish typically become more aggressive and territorial. With loaches, barbs, and cats in particular, things tend to get a bit nasty. Although typically no damage is done, the display is something to be concerned over. offer then a scenery change, with new and more hiding places.

As for feeding, pre-soak the worms so they sink once poured into the tank. The leftovers that make their way down to the bottom will be consumed by the loaches, whom don't eat off the top because they physically cant.

Hope this helps! best wishes.
