Brown algea

Question
Hi, I've got a five sided tall, 55 gallon tank. Its seems to be growing brown algae on surfaces, plants, glass walls. I've increased the water flow by adding another bubble stick and doubled the lighting. Any suggestions? Any chemical I might be able to add to get rid of this? I only have black tetras and danios in there as well as one albino catfish. Thanks for any advice you can give.

Answer
algae is directly related to the amount of light that your tank is getting... if you have doubled the light source then the algae will grow like crazy.  To get rid of the algae you should decrease the amount of light that your tank is getting... If that is not acceptable you can try ALGAEFIX though I do not like adding chemicals to the tank to correct other issues.... dave
