Wasting? TB?

Question
Thank you for your quick response. Sadly I had another dead female guppy this a.m.:-( I'm going to remove the other female and hopefully the treatment you suggested will work.  As for your question wrt the female beta. She is in a fairly large hatchery actually, it has water flow hose attached which is supposed to suck the fry/eggs to another section. It keeps the water from getting stagnant.  She's quite happy there, or I think she is, I clean it daily.  I swear she has a personality, she goes to the same corner every morning for breakfast.  I placed her there initially to recover from injuries from other fish and left her in there.  I've read through all the questions and answers and removed shells from my aquariums.  I had no idea they would/could change the ph level.  Yes, I do wash thouroughly after messing with the tanks, and use an antibacterial gel as well. Good advice BTW...

It's great being able to get good advice from you and other fish experts.  Keep up the great work.  If you'd like I'll keep you posted on my girls.  Hopefully the last will survive.   Kind Regards, Danica

Answer
Hi Danica
Sorry for the guppy....Hopefully like I said, it's nothing real serious with them.

Cool sounding hatchery lol.  I was just curious why she was being kept in there.  Didn't sound like you had anything aggressive in the tank.  And usually, my experiences anyway, they aren't too aggressive.  Yes, they do have personalities, that's for sure lol.

Shells, limestone, corals, anything that can contain calcium carbonate will raise the ph in a tank.  They'll work great for a marine tank, or an African cichlid tank, but not the best for most freshwater fish.

Well thank you!!  And definitely let me know how it goes with them as well.
