Question
I have got a gold pleck in a communual tank. Unfortunately the fish got stuck between some rocks and while it was stuck it was attacked by the other fish in the tank. They have sucked the scales off of about half of him, he is about 8 inches long. I have set up another tank using the water and gravel from the main tank, but is there anything i can add to his water to help his scales heal or to prevent infection? thank you for any help you can give me.

Answer
There's nothing you can really do but keep the tank immaculate (25% water changes with gravel cleaning once a month; any more will cause undue stress) and put in some real plants (to keep the ammonia down) and get the little buy a HEALTHY bottom feeder to eat the food be doesn't.
Note: plecs, while excellent algae eaters, will eat anything that fits in their mouth
