breeding betta fish

Question
I have breed fish with success in past. I have a white female with orange fins, how can i tell when she is ready to mate , will horizontal lines show up or not?thanks.

Hi Caren: Horizontal lines will show up and disappear... I usually wait to put them together until the female is quite fat with eggs and the male has built a bubble nest... Sometimes the lines show up because of stress... so its important to observe their behavior... If you need additional information please let me know... dave
