Type of water needed

I'm keeping some freshwater tadpoles for a science fair project. I had heard that tadpoles are extrememly sensitive to the "chemicals" in tap and distilled water. Do you know anything about this? If so please let me know how I can either make the "chemicals" less toxic, or another option of water I could use. Thank you.

Sorry, I don't know much about tadpoles. However, my suggestion would be to ask at the pet store if chlorine removing products are safe for tadpoles. Most chlorine removing products will get rid of the dangerous chemicals.
