Adult Zebra Danio females are more round in the belly. Males are slimmer and smaller.

Guppies are sexed by looking at the bottom back fin near the vent, called the anal fin. The female's is fanned out and the male's is pointed. Males are usually slimmer and females more round in the belly. Most male guppies have more color and bigger tails too. As babies they all look like females. Young males' anal fins will start to become pointed as they mature at 12 weeks or later.
