Question
I was cleaning my fish tank out today and noticed tiny black worms.There were about 10 that i saw they hide in the rocks.At frist when i saw them i thought it was fish poo,but then it  started to wiggle.I thought i got them all out but i just looked in the tank and there was one digging in the rocks to hide its self.What is this?I didnt see anything on my fish so i am confused.please help

Hi Misty;

I know it sounds weird but they are probably ""blackworms" just as they look. They are feeding on waste in the bottom of the tank. They probably came in with fish or plants. They aren't harmful to your fish. They are actually sold as fish food by the ounce, taken from large refrigerated clumps. If you were to cut back on food a bit your fish would eat them if they can be found. If you see any more, suck them into a bucket or something. Try to get a digital photo of them and upload it to a free image hosting site. You can then send me the link to look at.
