Question
Hi David,
I have got another question for you...thanks again for all your help. After I last emailed you, the NO2 has remained around the 1 to 2 ppm mark, lately 1 ppm or so. NO3 has been at about 5 ppm and has went up to 10 ppm twice (most recently on 8/23 but then on 8/24 back to 5 ppm). Do you think NO3 has already spiked, or is it going to go higher still? Also, would changing one of the filter media (not the biowheel) help get rid of some of the high NO2 in the water? Again, trying to be patient but really wanting to get some fish!!
Thanks for your ideas/help!
Laura

Answer
I think that the NO3 is about done spiking.  If the NO2 is going to remain solid and the ammonia is going to remain at zero then the tank is nearly finished.  If you change one of the filter media it would help... especially if you are using active carbon.  dave
