Question
I just went and bought three silver tip sharks for my fresh water aquarium, today, and its only been like 6 hours since i,ve had them, and now one of them is swimming upside down, and the others seem to soon do the same thing.the guy at the pet store said that they would be fine.my question is,have i done something wrong?the water temp is 80degrees,i added chems to dechlorinate the water, what else can i do,cause as you know, these fish do not come cheap.

Answer
LOL, what do you mean they don't come cheap? Yes they do.
They're like $5-$10, half of my fish are over $100 and I have some in the 4-digit range.

But anyways, price doesn't really matter it is more the life of another living thing.

Did you acclimate them properly? ie) Floating them for 15 minutes and adding 1/5 the bag of aquarium water every 5-10 minutes until it was compeltely full?

Either way, I doubt your sharks would live long.
Do you have any idea how big they get? About a foot. Your three wouldn't be able to survive much longer than a few months in anything less than a 125 gallon tank. So if your tank is under 125 gallons they wouldn't live long anyways.

Another theory would be that you didn't cycle your aquarium. How old is your tank? If you set it up without adding a source of pure ammonia for 3-5 weeks there is another problem there.
